Thoughts on Digidesign 11 Rack

I don't know what I think about this product yet. The Digidesign Eleven Rack is a Pro Tools LE interface, guitar pre-amp and modeling multi-effects unit.

With an MSRP of $1300 (street could be as low as $900) this unit's cost is in line with 003 line of LE interfaces, although it has only two line inputs and one mic pre-amp. A lot of the cost represents the extensive amp and effect modeling included, based on Digidesign's Eleven amp simulation plug-in. If you think of the 11R as an M-Box2 plus a Line 6 POD I guess it all adds up.

So, who is this for? Digidesign's web site does not list it with the LE interfaces, but in its own category as a "Guitar Solution." The question is, do guitarists want to buy a high-end multi-effect unit and adopt ProTools at the same time? If they do want ProTools will the be happy with 11R's rather narrow set of inputs?

I'm conflicted. For now, at any rate, if I am going to drop the required change for an LE interface, even if it comes with professional quality modeling, I want to be able to plug in more than one mic.
